Write it. Show it.
Say it.

Writezu is one app for your documents, PDFs and slide decks — and for presenting them live, with an audience screen, a presenter view, and a teleprompter that follows your voice. It all stays on your computer.

LIVE Teleprompter · following your voice 7:02 PM

Good evening, and welcome. Tonight we look back on a year of small wins, late nights and good people — and we start by saying thank you to everyone who made it happen.

Make

Everything you write, in one place

A word processor, a PDF editor, slides, an image editor and a notepad — side by side, and built to hand work to one another.

Documents

A full word processor: fonts and styles, tables, lists, images and page layout, with themes, find and replace and an outline. Opens and saves Word files, and keeps your words in plain Markdown underneath.

PDFs

Highlight, redact and sign. Rotate pages or pull them into a new PDF, add a watermark and page numbers, set or remove a password, make scanned pages searchable, and compare two versions.

Slides

Every slide is the full editor, with themes, transitions, speaker notes and backgrounds — a colour, a picture, a video or a moving effect. Turn a document into slides, or slides into a document, with one button.

Canvas

An image editor with layers, brushes, shapes and filters — and AI image generation if you add your own key. Put what you make straight onto a document or a slide.

Notepad

Notes and to-dos with dates, reminders and pins. A keyboard shortcut jots one down from anywhere on your computer, and one click turns a note into a full document.

AI, only if you want it

Everything works by hand. Add a key from the AI provider you choose and it can rewrite, fix, shorten or summarise what you select — nothing is sent until you ask.

Present

Built for the room, not just the slide

Run a talk, a class or a Sunday service from one laptop: the room sees the audience screen, you see everything else.

Audience screen and presenter view The projector shows the slide. Your screen shows the next one, your notes, the running order and the time.
Running orders Line decks and songs up in a playlist that plays back to back — plus a stage display for a monitor facing the band.
Countdowns and holding screens Set a start time and the show begins by itself. Intermission picks up where you left off; an ending screen closes the night.
Messages to the room A line along the bottom of the screen without stopping anything — “Parent of #142, please come to the nursery.”
Point and draw A laser pointer, highlighting, underlines, a pen and shapes, drawn live on the audience screen — and kept as a copy of the deck if you want them.
Songs from pasted lyrics Paste the words and get a deck split into verses and choruses, with the copyright line your licence asks for.
Voice

A teleprompter that keeps up with you

Speech is recognised on your own computer — nothing you say is sent anywhere. It's fastest with an NVIDIA graphics card and works on any recent processor.

It follows your voice The script rolls as you speak and dims what you've already said. It keeps pace with a reader who never pauses, and finds you again if you go back or go off script.
Dictation anywhere Hold your push-to-talk key and talk: the words are typed into whatever you're working in — not only Writezu.
Slides that move when you do Finish what a slide says and the next one comes up. Say “next slide”, “go back” or “hold the prompter” and it does.
Karaoke, timed for you Give it the backing track and the lyrics are timed to it automatically, highlighted word by word — and exported as subtitles if you need them.

Voice is an optional extra download from inside the app: about 130 MB, or about 550 MB for the graphics-card version.

Yours

Your work stays yours

On your computer

Documents, decks and PDFs are saved on your machine and never uploaded to us. The account only holds your email address.

In open formats

Your writing is kept as Markdown and HTML, and saves out as Word, PDF and more. Nothing holds it hostage.

Synced only if you choose

To have your work on more than one computer, sync it to your own GitHub — straight from your machine, never through us.

Undo everything

Restyle a page or rework a deck freely — every change can be walked back, one step at a time.

1

Create a free account

With your email address, or with Google.

Questions

Good to know

Is Writezu free?

Yes. You need a free account to download it and to sign in to the app — that's all.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your files never leave your computer. Writezu checks your account whenever it can, and needs to reach us at least once a week to keep working.

Is there a Mac version?

Not yet. Writezu runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).

What does voice need?

A microphone, and a one-time download from inside the app. An NVIDIA graphics card makes it much faster, but it works on any recent processor. Speech is recognised on your computer, not online.

How does it update?

By itself. When there's a new version, Writezu says so, and one click installs it and opens it again.

What do you keep about me?

Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name — to run your account. Never your files. The privacy policy has the details.
